Grow With Me Buddies | Tulsa Newborn Pictures

What is cuter than a baby?  Maybe a baby with a Grow With Me Buddy.  These are usually gifts or stuffed animals that go with the decor of the nursery.  At the time of birth they seem enormous!  But give the baby a few months and all of a sudden they are the same size!  A few years?  And they are the perfect size to go under the arm and tag along everywhere to ensure their worn out look that will endure them to your heart.

I’m not sure “Grow With Me Buddy” is a technical term but if it becomes a thing…well you heard it here first!  🙂  Over the years I see a few brand new ones and quite a few heirloom ones.  Stuffies that belonged to Mom or Dad as a child and definitely have that worn in look that only the owner can appreciate.

One of my favorite ways to incorporate these precious items is a side by side overview.  It’s one that parents can easily replicate from month to month that first year as the document their growing baby.  Literally lay down baby next to the stuffy.  Stand over them and take a picture.  This becomes increasing harder as they learn to turn over and crawl!!!  In those cases aim for a day your baby is napping.  If they fall asleep in your arms before laying them in their crib put them on a blanket take the picture then transfer them to their crib.  Sleeping babies and toddlers are precious and not often documented!!!  Mostly from my experience because you don’t want to risk waking them!  As a mom of four I totally get that!

Now a days there are a lot of Grow with Me options from blankets to stickers.  What is your favorite way to document the month to month?
